About ArtCritic
ArtCritic is an online contemporary art magazine cultivating a critical, nuanced, and demanding perspective on artworks, their creators, as well as the institutions and structures that support them: galleries, art centers, museums, but also independent organizations, fairs, and collective initiatives. Our ambition is to help the reader grasp the complexity of the artistic ecosystem, while repositioning criticism at a level where it questions the work, its institutional framework, and the social, economic, and political stakes it underpins.
Through our approach, we reexamine aesthetic and philosophical concepts inherited from tradition, confront them with contemporary practices, and thus open new paths for analysis, reading, and understanding of artists and their proposals.
ArtCritic is committed to offering a dynamic, rich, and stimulating critical experience, reflecting the vitality of the artistic scene it explores. Under the editorial direction of Hervé Lancelin (@hervelancelin), an art critic and exhibition curator, the magazine relies on a team of editors and documentalists. Hervé Lancelin has written critical texts throughout his career on hundreds of artists around the world, among those who are the most significant in the artistic landscape of our time, thus affirming a demanding perspective and a profound knowledge of the contemporary issues of creation.
The magazine is committed to continuously renewing the dialogue between creation, thought, and the world.
